No, Azukari Koi handles all the logistics from start to finish. We keep you updated every step of the way.
You can buy through the mailing list. You can send us requests for koi that you’re looking for, or you can visit us in Japan and select your koi for yourself.
Azukari Koi are the agents in the UK for Ornafish Japan. You can buy directly through www.ornafish.com and anything you select will be automatically added to our next shipment.
All shipments come into Heathrow Airport, where they are inspected by CEFAS and released once the koi’s health and paperwork are approved.
We currently have two delivery rounds. We deliver one route that finishes in South Yorkshire with various stops en route along the M1 or the A1. We have a second route driving up the M40/M42/M6, finishing near Stoke, again with various drop-off points en route.
We can’t promise delivery for every shipment; it all depends on driver availability and which dealers have koi arriving.
Most dealers already know that we’ve been in the trade for many years.
However, If you provide us with a generic email address (Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, etc.) then this will prompt further investigation.
Other forms of proof—though these don’t always guarantee approval—are copies of your pet shop license, VAT registration, Companies House incorporation certificate, trade references, and photographs of your shop and facilities (including signage).

The simple answer is: for what it’s worth. The skill, however, is knowing what a koi is worth. Only experience will tell you this, and this is just one of the skills that set good koi dealers apart.
